Top carpet trends in 2021
In the last decade of the 21st century, a rampant fashion for storytelling has spread, which has not bypassed the design sphere. If earlier interior items played an exclusively compositional role that would satisfy the customer's requirements, now they see their message, history in them. And carpets are now at the forefront as they are the accent, the identity and your face. In this article, I will tell you about the trends affecting carpet products this year.

Key values for carpets in 2021

1.  Everything in eco style. The trend towards respect for the environment is only gaining momentum. This has spread not only to design, but also to industry, food processing and construction. In fashion and daily routine, it takes root much faster, because there is talk about it on all Internet sites. Because of this, manufacturers give preference to environmentally friendly materials, including:
  • Sisal fibers. Carpets made of this material gained popularity after appearing on the pages of world fashion magazines and still remain in our hearts. Ideal for high traffic areas as they are incredibly abrasion resistant. In the interior, sisal can be seen both in natural color and in dyed versions.
  • Jute products. They are made of plant fiber and can be both an independent decorative element and the basis for floor coverings made of silk, wool and a number of synthetic materials. Unlike sisal carpets, jute carpets perfectly absorb moisture without harming the pile of the covering.
  • Recycled carpets. They are mainly made of plastic. The production of recycled carpets has received a lot of attention from designers around the world and is now at its peak.

2.  Maximum about the personality. In the classification of styles, there is no such direction as maximalism. Let's figure it out: when designers mention maximalism, they mean everything that contradicts laconicism and minimalism. However, this does not mean an uncontrolled riot of colors. Maximalism is the coexistence of two, maximum of three combined styles with an emphasis on your favorite color. It is important to remember a rule that works for sure and at all times when it comes to style: it is recommended to include up to three colors in the interior palette, more is already a bad taste.

3.  The effect of scuffing. Carpets with a similar effect add notes of wealth, antiquity and nostalgia to the story you want to tell. Such a carpet attracts attention and attracts guests with its naturalness, philosophicality and graceful simplicity.

4.  Carpets in the style of cut-loops. The Katlups came back to us straight from the 70s and 80s, only then they were carpets with an emphasis on graphic, carved shapes and bright colors. In a modern design, cut-loop carpets carry a leitmotif of contrast and are distinguished by a deep variety of textures and shades. I will buy such a carpet just for my office in order to remember all the ambiguity in the philosophy of life.

5.  Eco-chic. The relatively young direction Eco Chic balances on a combination of natural materials and expensive fabrics with a durable texture (silk, velvet, natural leather). When creating apartments in this style, designers choose carpets from a short loop and velvet pile, as they are able to visually "warm" the room.

Modern production of carpets provides a lot of opportunities for connoisseurs of the classics and for those who are greedy for experimentation and trends. There will always be resources and ways to make yourself known. The main thing is to choose what reflects the very essence.
